Tim Armstrong

Textiles and apparel industry advisor with 36 years’ experience spanning manufacturing, investment promotion, trade policy and global sourcing across Africa, Asia and the Americas.

Tim has built and run garment manufacturing operations and advised governments, development institutions and businesses on textiles and apparel competitiveness, investment and market access. His experience includes establishing factories in Jordan and Mozambique, managing sourcing programmes across Asia, and supporting industrial development and investment promotion across multiple African markets.

His advisory work has covered industrial-zone development, export market strategy, rules of origin, sourcing and supply chains, factory development and investor attraction. In Ghana, his work supporting the textiles and apparel sector helped attract five investors associated with 15,000 jobs.

Tim has advised or worked with organisations including the World Bank, USAID, the European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Gatsby Foundation. His work spans markets across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
