Maria Ogbugo

Maritime economist and infrastructure advisor with 20 years’ experience spanning shipping, energy regulation and banking, with particular expertise in developing bankable maritime infrastructure projects.

Maria has worked across maritime infrastructure development, shipping and climate-resilient growth, advising public and private sector organisations and developing complex projects from concept through feasibility, financing and implementation readiness.

She was Project Coordinator for the US$137 million Takoradi Floating Dock Project in Ghana, supporting its development from concept and feasibility through permitting, commercial agreements and engagement with debt and equity funders. The project has secured funding and is preparing for construction.

Maria also advises organisations including the International Maritime Organization and serves as a director of several maritime businesses. She holds an MSc in International Business, Energy and Petroleum from the University of Aberdeen and a BA in Economics and Geography from the University of Ghana.
